The Most Environmentally Friendly Bottle
Why Botl is the right choice

onegreenbottle has been supplying solutions to single-use water bottles or plastic water bottles since 2006! Onegreenbottle was founded by an industrial chemist. Her knowledge of plastic manufacturing made it very important to find safe alternatives for her child and experience of working in huge manufacturing facilities all over the World made her determined to manufacture and supply responsibly. This was the cornerstone from which BOTL was built. Responsible supply and product safety are the driving forces behind the organisation.

Made from Recycled Materials

We use recycled stainless steel for our bottles – this saves over 85% of the energy required to make virgin steel. Our caps are being manufactured from recycled ocean sourced polypropylene because we believe that it isn’t enough to just stop using plastic, we need to actively remove it from our oceans.

We Remove plastic from the Ocean

For every bottle sold we also reclaim a whopping 1 kg of single use plastic from the ocean in collaboration with Plastic Bank – this also provide collectors with an income in some of the World’s poorest regions.

Commitment to Carbon Removal

We commit 1% of our turnover to permanent carbon removal.

Responsible Manufacture and transport

We manufacture with a zero single-use plastic factory and ship with zero single use plastic packaging. We ship products by sea or via carbon neutral vehicles.

We are Certified B-Corp.

How to avoid Microplastics!

They seem to be everywhere and as unavoidable as they are undetectable but you can make easy changes to your lifestyle to cut the number of microplastics you ingest on a daily basis.

Here is our Top of the most important ways to cut out microplastics:

  1. Don’t use plastic water bottles! Ever! Plastic bottled water has been shown to contain around 240,000 pieces of microplastics per 500ml. Filter your own tap water and invest in a stainless steel or glass water bottle. Tap water conforms to more stringent safety tests than bottled water. Don’t like the taste of tap water? It is probably just the chlorine that you are experiencing the taste of. Invest in an under-sink filter. Look for filters that also trap microplastics
  2. Don’t store food in plastic containers. Avoid plastic containers, plastic utensils and plastic chopping boards. Choose glass containers with silicone or polypropylene lids and use wooden or steel utensils and wooden chopping boards
  3. Cook from scratch and avoid ready meals – choose a plant based diet where possible – microplastics have been found in our food chain – particularly seafood
  4. Avoid man-made materials where practicable. Clothing and carpets are big offenders in the home.
  5. Avoid non-stick pans
  6. Opt for plastic free tea bags – or go loose!
  7. Choose plastic free cosmetics – look for natural ingredients and symbols denoting plastic free formulations – shimmers and exfoliants are often microplastics that can be absorbed by the skin.
