Kate looked increds at the BAFTAs on Sunday in a white Alexander McQueen gown and sexy black velvet gloves. But you might not have realised that she’s been spotted in this dress before, albeit looking very different. The dress is the exact same one she wore to the same event in 2019, with a few minor alterations. Who knew that swapping a floral detail for a trail of fabric, slapping on a pair of full length gloves and huge gold earrings could make this outfit even better than it was the first time around?? And it’s not the first time she’s pulled an ingenious revamp out the bag. Here are our other favourite K- Mids outfit choices…
Alexander McQueen is a firm favourite of Kate’s, and this violet patterned gown was her choice for both the 2017 BAFTAs and the 2019 Portrait Gala (with a minor tweak ofc!).
This gold and white stunner was first worn by Kate in Malaysia in 2012 during a royal tour. But after BAFTA included a sustainable fashion dress code for the 2020 awards, Kate was one of the only stars to actually follow it. She wore the same dress with a small alteration to the sleeves, different accessories and shoes, and she gave the dress a whole new lease of life. Good for you gyal.
Our other favourite stars to be seen re-wearing ‘fits are Kiera Knightley, Cate Blanchett and Winona Ryder. Next time we’ve got an occasion to dress for, first place we’re looking is the back of the wardrobe.
